VT Food Share Coalition
About
Our goal is to bring together people from across campus who are dedicated to and interested in food access for the Virginia Tech community. This group is made up of food-share cabinet facilitators, people interested in hosting food-share cabinets, and VT Food Access Initiatives. This coalition is a platform for partnerships, resource-sharing, and a way to engage across units at Virginia Tech.
Food-Share Cabinets
Food Share cabinets are distributed mini-pantries designed to support short-term food access needs on-campus. These non-perishable pantries primarily provide easy-prep meals, snacks, and nutritious food options. They are placed in various locations across campus to broaden impact and reach.
Get involved
If your unit is interested in establishing a food-share cabinet or joining the VT Food Share Coalition, please complete VT Food Share interest form and allow 1-2 weeks for a response from the team.
History
The VT Food Share Coalition was established during the summer of 2024 by the Food Access Initiatives team with generous support from The Honors College and The Center for Food Systems and Community Transformation.
