This waiting list application for The Market of VT is for the academic year 2023-2024 only. All unprocessed applications will be discarded on June 30, 2024. The waiting list for 2024-2025 participation will open on May 1, 2024.

The Market of VT is a Student Affairs initiative that is designed to provide food assistance to students who, for whatever reason, have a hard time obtaining regular, healthy meals. Such a situation could be the result of a short-term disruption in finances, residing in a food desert, or a lack of access to other financial assistance.

This academic year, the Market of Virginia Tech serves approximately 115 students a week. The Market offers seasonal produce and fruits; options for beef, poultry, and vegetarian protein; dairy items; dry-goods pantry stock items; and bonus treats.

Each weekly pickup will provide roughly seven days worth of meals.

If you are an enrolled undergraduate or graduate student and wish to learn more about the Market of Virginia Tech, please email themarket@vt.edu or call the Office of the Dean of Students at 540-231-3787.
